"Zero Gravity Workstation ! " Sounds pretty cool doesn't it ?
What is it you might ask ? Well, the "Zero Gravity Workstation" by ErgoQuest, is being used all across the US in various rehabilitation hospitals, spine centers, educational institutions as well as corporate entities and government facilities. They are being used when, for a variety of reasons, a person needs to work or rest in a zero stress position.
Such was the case for one of Source's current clients. Due to a spinal injury, and subsequent ongoing issues, one of our clients needed to be working and resting in a 180 degree flat environment. Needless to say, it was not a common request for us, as we typically deal with the traditional furniture needs of our clients. The search began for what we originally envisioned would be a chair that would allow a person to lay flat, and somehow work. That search took us ultimately to ErgoQuest, and the fine folks there. We were able to gather all of the important information we needed, by assessing the exact needs of this customer. Here were some of the pre selection questions asked:
1. What are the clear floor space dimensions of the office location where the workstation will be positioned?
2. What technology needs to be supported and accessed from a reclined position? (computers, laptops, monitors, tablets, printers, phone etc.)
3. What are monitor specifications (size and weight or make and model). How many monitors?
4. What type of keyboard and mouse are used? Wired or wireless? Mouse or trackball? Standard keyboard or split?
5. What is the desired degree of maximum recline?
6. How important is table space? Is there a need to support papers, manuals, binders, files etc.?
7. Is there a need to accommodate working from a standing position?
8. Is visual acuity an issue? Do the monitors have to be placed unusually close to the face for viewing?
9. Are there any physical dexterity issues that would prevent, for example, pushing small buttons or pulling a monitor in closer?
10. Height and weight of the user? (approx)
After gathering all of the necessary data, we were able to recommend the exact workstation that was needed for this individual, and three weeks later, she was comfortably working in her office, with complete adjustability of the chair and work station. As seen in the pictures below, the "Zero Gravity Workstation" is far from the typical desk and chair most of us sit at.
Below are a few pictures of the units, and a link if you would like more information on ErgoQuest. Additionally I added a YouTube video link. I can be reached for more information or for discounted pricing available on these units. White glove delivery and installation are included.

The Source catalog is now available exclusively through Buy@CTL in the Ariba portal. The portal is accessible by following this link: Ariba Support - Home. Please click on Buy@CTL and navigate to the Office Supply tile. Once you have entered the Source punchout catalog in Ariba you will find that, apart from the Department and Ship to fields at the top, the catalog interface is largely the same as this website. You can add to your cart as you have in the past, but when you go to check out and submit the order, you will be guided back to Ariba to make the purchase and input your payment method and shipping information. One main difference between the two is that each office supply order placed within Ariba will have its own PO and will require manager approval in accordance with the CenturyLink EFAA policy. The approval is required before the order is placed with Source. As we are navigating this transition, we ask that you direct any questions about the process or Ariba system to ariba.p2p@centurylink.com rather than the customer service agents at Source. However, once your PO/order is approved, Source’s team of CSRs will be the best point of contact for a quick resolution for any difficulties. The Source CSR team can be contacted via e-mail (CSRs@SourceOT.com), using the Source website’s chat function, or by calling into customer service (1-800-980-8010).
